My favorite things cover a broad amount of territory. I love the sound of waves crashing on the shore especially when I am in bed and hearing this restful sound through the open window. Walking on the sandy beach on a warm day relaxes me and reminds me of many romantic walks on the beach talking with that special person.
Three of my favorite things would be the waves, the beach, and the diamond-like sparkles on the water on a beautiful sunny day.
Door County ranks high on my list. This is my favorite getaway and a place where I can leave all of my worries behind me. When I pass the “Welcome to Door County” sign, I can breathe more easily and I feel at home. We have a family cottage in Door County and when I think of my happy place this is where I go.
No list of favorite things would be complete without my family. I moved back to my hometown in 2014 because life without my sister and my two nieces and their families felt incomplete. I am grateful every day to be home with my people.
When Michael and I were married back in 1986, his daughter and son and their families became part of our favorite things.
Frankly, this is a list that could go on and on way past 10.
Our home is in a warm and friendly neighborhood. I am grateful to have the support of my neighbors and am proud to call them friends. This has been my favorite place to live.
I have to include quirky Beaver Dam in my list of favorite things. I have lived all over the country in large cities and small towns. I still choose to live in Beaver Dam. It is here that I find peace and comfort. I enjoy the city itself and its proximity to Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, and most of all, Door County.
At this point, I’ve lost count of my favorite things and I know I can not stop without including my Sidetracked Sisters. My connection with these amazing women brings me so much happiness and gives a solid meaning to my favorite things.
