that leads me to the thought that I would have to pair down my collecting tendencies. This brings me to the question: What are the 5 items I need to have in my space that I can’t live without? That is a great question!
The first would be my 2 cats. For those who know me at all, this one is going to surprise you as I was never a cat person until 2 years ago when Brad’s cats came into my life. Now I’m hooked. Dipper and Daisy have stolen my heart and they need to come with me.
Next would be my computer (with Internet access). I’m a technology nerd at heart and as long as I have my laptop, I’m able to stay in touch with people, listen to music, watch movies, and do all the things.
The third would have to be a squishy pillow to snuggle with and sleep on. After all, sleeping is one of my favorite pastimes, so we need to be comfortable. The best kind is squishy, but still firm enough to hold some shape. I have the best ones up at the cabin, but I have no idea what is inside them.
Finally, I would pick a comfy recliner. It could become one of those multifunction devices I love so much! During the day, it could be my desk chair. During meals, it would be my dining room chair. At night, it would be my entertainment chair and at bedtime, if needed, it could even be my sleeping chair!
In the end, while I might not be fully prepared to embrace the minimalist lifestyle just yet, it’s fun to dream about it—especially when I get to imagine tiny, perfectly organized spaces with hidden compartments and furniture that transforms as if it belongs in a spy movie. And while I may not ever be a true minimalist, at least I know my essentials: my cats, my computer, my squishy pillow, my coloring tools, and a multitasking recliner that’s ready for anything. Maybe I don’t need to downsize entirely… just find a recliner that converts into a whole house!
