My Musical Journey

musicI love just about any kind of music.  On my least favorite list are opera, jazz,  polka music, or what I would call head-banging music, and let’s not forget rapping.  I think rapping is dumb unless it is done well.

I love music that you can sing along with and can understand the words.  I love slow dreamy music and especially music with a great beat you can dance to.

I also enjoy my music loud, very loud.  There is nothing that helps get cleaning done better than rockin’ to great music at a high decibel.  Also, when in a revenue where music is being played I love dancing close to where the speakers are.

On my list of some of my favorite artists are:  Whitney Houston, The Pointer Sisters, Barry Manilow, Michael Ball, Celine Dion, John Denver, Kenny G, Neil Diamond, and Abba,  just to name a very few.  I don’t love one over the other, it is the music that they are producing that trips my trigger!

It makes a difference where this music is being played.  For dancing I like loud songs with a cool beat.  Slow dancing is great with the right music.  Now my husband loves polka music.  Me, not so much.  If I do participate in this exhausting type of activity I like to do the standard steps.  None of the fanciwork like dancing side by side with your boobs flopping to and fro!!!

My preference for music goes all over the place from 50, 60, 70 80, and 90s music.  When I listen to certain music it brings up so many memories of things happening at that time such as school dances, boy/girl get-togethers, what relationship you were with at a certain time, and many more.

A fun memory I have is when my oldest daughter and I were stripping a boatload of woodwork in her home.  We would be doing this at all hours of the night and we loved singing country music.  The music was great and we sang our hearts out.

When I lived at home and shared my bedroom with one of my sisters we listened to music on her hi-fi that was in our bedroom.  One of her favorite artists was Johnny Mathis and we listened to many, many of his albums

There is nothing like falling asleep to the beautiful Golden Oldies and reminiscing.
