Downshifting – ‘Chelle

The question is how do you downshift at night?  How do you relax?

Well for me – it’s very easy.  I am not a big drinker, so it’s just a matter of sitting down and doing… NOTHING!!

I turn on the tv and I may watch of I may play on an electronic device, but generally, I just do…  NOTHING…  My family accuses me of being a hermit.  They frequently ask me if I’m avoiding them.  Most of the time, it’s just a case of me “downshifting”.

At work, I always need to be “on”, so when it’s the weekend or night – I don’t feel like being very social.

The more I think about it, the more I realize I use this technique a lot. I simply clear my mind and refuse to think about my issues or events in my life.  Some may consider it a method of avoidance, but I prefer to think of it as my method of stress relief.

Sleep – Sleep is another favorite method of downshifting. 🙂
