I feel that in my life there appear to be so many unhappy people. There are so many bad things going on in the world around us and I am sure that contributes to a lot of concern and unhappiness for a lot of people. Now, on the other hand, I feel you can choose how you are going to handle your life. You can choose to be happy or sad. Having a positive or happy attitude can get you through just about anything.
I have so much to be happy about. Sure bad things happen, but how you choose to view or handle these events is a choice to be made by no one but YOU.
Some of the things that make me happy are:
Upon waking up in the morning, my ten-month-old puppy sees me awake and immediately lies her body horizontal with mine. This makes me happy.
Getting a phone call from one of my children and/or grandchildren is such a joy. It is nice to be loved and thought of. This makes me happy.
A friend wanted me to spend time with her. This makes me happy.
Having my house and affairs in order. My surroundings are very important to me and it is important that I am comfortable. This makes me happy.
A beautiful summer day like today. There was a blue sky day, no clouds, no humidity just absolutely heavenly. This makes me happy.
My garden is finally under control in my rather haphazard way. I strive for perfection, but anyone who has a garden realizes this just doesn’t happen. Few weeds, and an abundance of flowers. This makes me happy
My family all get together whether it be on holidays, birthdays, at the cabin, or just to hang out. This makes me happy
My wonderful grandchildren. They are all so different, and I love each and every one of them in totally different ways. This makes me happy
My husband having a good day after his retirement. This makes me happy
Having two dogs, one five years and one ten months. Watching them play and feeling their love. This makes me happy
All my loved ones are healthy, happy, and successful. This is my (go to) for wishes on birthday cakes, the first star in the sky. This makes me very happy.
I could go on and on. I choose to be happy, and love who I am, where I am, and how I got here.
DON’T WORRY BE HAPPY (Quote from Meher Baba) This picture and saying hung on my boss’s wall in his office for years. and created a thoughtful presence on my part between taking dictation.
