Give Me Aladdin’s Lamp

One of my favorite Disney movies is Aladdin. I love Robin Williams’s portrayal of the genie. He has so many great lines and it makes me laugh every time I watch that movie. While watching that movie, I’ve often thought, “What would I wish for if I had 3 wishes?”Some people wish for wealth and fame. Others wish for love. Sometimes their wishes backfire because they aren’t specific enough. I think my wishes would be the following:

To have enough money to live a comfortable upper-middle-class life with no debts. The idea of having no debts is almost enough of a wish to make any other ones obsolete. I don’t need as much money as a celebrity, but I also don’t want to have to struggle or constantly think about money and where it’s going to come from.
For my children to all be happy, healthy, and lead successful lives doing what they want to do. I would want them to have enough money to live comfortably and also have no worry about debts or where the money is going to come from. I also would want them to be able to do what they want to do in life. Not to do something because they have to, but because they want to.
To instantly be at my goal weight with no need for plastic surgery. Weight loss can be a daunting feat and I’m a creature of instant gratification. I want to have the results without having to do the work. It would be amazing to be able to eat whatever I want without worrying about if it’s going to make me gain more weight.

My wishes aren’t the most grandiose but would make life easier and make my worries fewer. After all, isn’t that the purpose of wishes? Now I just need to find that magic lamp. Guess it’s time to hit the desert and search the Cave of Wonders!
