Towel Troubles
Oh, to be a towel. Just think of all those bare bodies you get to wrap yourself around. That is, if you are one of the lucky ones.
Now, the reality of the towel hysteria that I find when my family is all together. That is, of course, the grandkids. In reality, they are thieves of the good beach towels at the cabin. This means they covet my beautiful new soft luxurious large beach towels and then, would you believe it, they take them home, and I never seem to see them again.
There is a theory that one of my sons-in-law shared with me. He actually said that my bath towels were too soft. Can that be an issue? He likes his towels to be hard and scratchy. What? That is crazy in my mind, but to each his own. Unfortunately, in my house, my rules, the towels are softer than hard, and definitely not scratchy.
There is a good side to washing towels. You see, especially if they are rather large, they take up a lot of room in the washer and dryer, and those are the loads of clothes that I like to fold. It goes fast and easy, nothing like the, let’s say, underwear load. If you are sharing the duty of folding clothes, always pick the towel load.
Another issue is color. If you have more than one bathroom, do you use the same colors in all the bathrooms, or have a different decor and color scheme in each? In theory, it sounds great to have the towels properly match the bath they are in, but if the colors are close, which, of course, mine are, after the second washing, they somehow start to gravitate to any bath that is not where they are supposed to be. My suggestion to this dilemma would be to stick to one color, like say white. Of course, each bath has to be decorated correctly to handle the white, or whatever color is chosen for all baths, and wha la, problem solved.
So, you think towels have a cushy job just being a towel, think again.
