Camping in Comfort

As it is I love camping.  When you enjoy this activity there are five items that you will absolutely have to have to make this a pleasant experience.

  1.  Let’s start with a tent. This is necessary in my book because this is how I go camping. It offers protection from the elements and guests such as various unwanted creatures.
  2. Next, since the ground is not exactly soft, I would believe a sleeping bag is a necessity.  This offers you warmth and can be used to sleep in.  It can also be used as a cover to keep warm by the campfire.
  3. I would hate to be without matches.  This is necessary to make a fire which is needed for cooking food and to offer entertainment.
  4. I would think it a good idea to have an outfit that you could layer to be used for sleeping, Daytime wearing, and easily washed.
  5. A sharp knife.  This would be useful for cooking and eating with, as a weapon, and can be used for repairs, etc.

Now those five items could in my book help to complete a decent camping trip.  Once when camping we actually saw a couple camping with a tent, two chairs, a cooler, and their car.  My husband thought this was fascinating as when we go camping here is what our list sort of looks like:

  1.  Car
  2. Tent
  3. Sleeping bags
  4. Air mattresses
  5. All utensils used in a regular kitchen
  6. A portable kitchen
  7. Bikes
  8. Pillows
  9. Clothes, for hot weather, cold weather, in-between weather, and so on.  This includes swimsuits and jackets.
  10. Towels
  11. Pots and pans
  12. Portable stove
  13. Chairs
  14. Decorative white lights
  15. Torches and matches
  16. Rugs, to be used for comfort
  17. Lights (battery operated)
  18. Lanterns (propane-fueled)
  19. Crates to store pots and pans, clothes, food, reading material, and magazines.
  20. Bug repellant
  21. Firewood
  22. Charcoal
  23. Gas to light fire
  24. Screen room
  25. Weather tarp to cover eating places
  26. Picnic tab
  27. Sink and stand to hold dishes and cleaning supplies.
  28. Pets
  29. Computer
  30. Radio.  Music is a necessity for exercise and dancing around the campfire.
  31. Sleeping bags
  32. Suitcases
  33. Green portable cabinet to hold dishes, silverware, spices

So, the activity to solve this craziness is “let’s buy a cabin”!!
