Buyers Remorse

I seem to dream a lot.  Mostly my dreams are crazy happenings and events.  

But most often my dreams are about houses, their layouts, decorating, and purchasing cottages that I then renovate.  I have this reoccurring dream that I purchase a cottage.  Now, this isn’t just any cottage, but a structure that it seemed no one wanted.  I always wanted to be located very close to the water and I always said, “I want a shack in the woods on a lake”.   

In my dream, I toured many areas, including the northern part of the State of Wisconsin.  Just so happens that it seems impossible to find a cottage that meets my criteria anywhere in the State.  Taking a ride we come across an area that has murky water, and a poor shoreline, and the cottage is situated in a less desirable location.  It has a trailer next door that is a grocery store.  This is not a cottage-type building that I had in mind.   The cottage looked like what I consider to be an old ladies decorating.  Hardly any windows, dusty curtains, many, many knick-knacks, and just plain undesirable.  I purchased this less-than-desirable cottage because I felt it was the only one left for sale, and if I didn’t buy it right then I would lose out.  Feeling good about my purchase until I came across a much nicer cottage, very small, near the lake, and more to my liking, but still not what I would want in real life.    So, I purchase this home too.  (I guess money was no object, in my dream of course!)

I was feeling troubled as I couldn’t get anyone to help redo the better of the two cottages and were not interested in helping or even wanting to look at the old ladies’ cottage.  This was really making me feel stressed in my dream. 

Now, I own two cottages, none of which I cared for.  But what got me into this situation was being over-anxious, impulsive and I would say, rather frivolous.

When I wake up I am so glad that this was all a dream and that my cottage in real life is certainly better than the two in my dream.   

In reality, I have a dream for my present cottage which would be to have an addition built on our cottage consisting of one more bedroom and a TV room.  I also would like to have it sided with log cabin siding.  

Another dream along this line would be to have several small homes (cottages) attached to create a commune-type living for my family.  Everyone would have their own space, and there would be a central living area.   They could be attached in some way, so in bad weather, going outside would not be a necessity.

Now, it would be nice to win the lottery.  Another nice dream.
