Homemade Lasagna

So many embarrassing moments to pick from.   One that comes to my mind is when we were part of a progressive dinner.  This was where several homes were chosen to be responsible for different parts of a meal.  The first one was drinks, the next was hor devours, the next the main course and finally one for dessert.

Well, Art informed me that we were on the committee for the main course.  It was decided that we would have lasagna for this.  I was told so told to me that our house would be hosting this course.  That was fine with me especially when he informed me that the good news was that I just had to make the house presentable and I wouldn’t have to cook.  Fantastic in my opinion.

The night of the event was here.  My house was presentable.  Other people who were assigned to make lasagna brought their dishes to our house.  Art and I were getting ready to go to the first house when he came into our bedroom and said, “Sandy, you didn’t make any lasagna!”  No shit, since I was told I didn’t need to as this course was at our house.  Well, guess what?  He was wrong and proceeded to say that he never told me that (you know how those conversations go between a husband and wife).

I thought o.k. There has to be a solution to this unbelievable oversight.  After going through many solutions, none of which could be done in a timely fashion, it was decided Art would go to the store, and buy two frozen lasagnas.  We then put them in a large lasagna pan, melded them together, and hoped that it looked like a lasagna dish that I had spent hours preparing.

Actually, no one seemed to notice, but of course, I haven’t been asked to make my delicious lasagna from that point on.

What could beat Stoffers “homemade” lasagna?
