A Full Bucket List

bucket list

My Dream Board

I never used to have a bucket list of items I wanted to accomplish, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized there are things I want to accomplish before I die.  I’ve included a few items that I’ve already done just because I like to have at least something checked off my list!  (Like putting “Make my bed” on a daily to-do list AFTER I’ve already made it!)

Skydiving

bucket listWe went skydiving about 14 years ago for Craig’s 40th birthday.  It was really a fun experience.  We all did tandem jumps, meaning the instructor was attached to us and controlled the experience.  We also received videos of the experience that are really fun to look back on.  I’ve rewatched mine a few times and each time I’m amazed that I actually did this.

Travel to Ireland

bucket list

Ireland 2016

Mom, Lisa, Melanie, and I went to Ireland in October of 2016, right after my divorce was final and it was amazing.  I love to travel and definitely want to do a lot more in the coming years (especially if I get to travel with Lisa)

Go on a cruise

Here is another experience I’ve already accomplished.  My significant other and I went on Lisa’s honeymoon cruise in January of 2000.  We came home pregnant with Jessica!  It was a great time, but now after going on one, I don’t know that I would need to go on another.

Travel to Greece

Greece has always fascinated me.  I can’t explain why, but it is definitely somewhere that I want to see.  The beautiful crystal blue water and just the idea of another country is what draws me in.

Learn to play guitar

I have a guitar and have subscribed to free online lessons, but haven’t completed this one yet.  Growing up, I remember going camping and sitting around the campfire with random neighbors coming to join us and they would bring their guitars.  Dad and Clem would sing and the neighbors would play along.  It still brings back incredible memories.

Learn sign language

This is something that Jessica has wanted to do and I always thought is was a really cool idea.  I would love to be able to add this to the list of items I can do.

Lose 100 lbs

In order to do some of the travel and adventures that Lisa and I want to do, this is going to be a requirement.  I’m currently working on this and hope to have big results within the next year.

Retire by 55

I’ve often joked that I’m going to be working until I die, but in order to do the traveling that I want to do, I’m going to need some time off.  Retiring by age 55 will allow me to do the adventures I want to do.

Get a tattoo

Jessica and I have talked about getting matching mom and daughter tattoos or maybe it will be a Sidetracked Sisters one.  I haven’t designed it as of yet, but it’s coming.

Go on a hot-air balloon ride

Even though I am afraid of heights, I want to go on a hot-air balloon ride.  When I think of hot-air balloons, I think of rainbows and brightly colored balloons and those 2 thoughts make me so happy.  The idea of floating along in the sky seems so peaceful and amazing.

Take a photography course

Currently, I don’t feel I’m a very good picture taker and I want to get better at it.  I think taking a class on this would definitely help in this.

I didn’t think I had a lot on my bucket list, but looking back at this writing, I guess I do have a lot of things I want to accomplish.  I’ve never written in down like this, and now that I have, I feel more determined to actually do these items!
